Year 5 and 6 Book Club

Our weekly Book Club sessions will promote your child’s love of reading whilst deepening their understanding across a wide range of texts and genres, including the classics.

NOTE: The class is held every Saturday from 10:45 – 11:45

Course Highlights:

Our weekly Book Club sessions will promote your child’s love of reading whilst deepening their understanding across a wide range of texts and genres, including the classics. Each week, alongside general comprehension, we will unpick vocabulary, inference, retrieval and summary through carefully planned activities. We aim to support your child to develop their enjoyment of reading and will provide your child with a book of their own to keep every half term to enjoy at home!

What does my child need to bring?
Nothing, all equipment is provided.
Absolutely! We also offer KS2 creative writing sessions, KS2 maths sessions and 11+ groups which will be suitable for this age group. Our sessions are engaging and supportive, ensuring children enjoy learning with us.
Our groups never have more than 6 children. There is an abundance of research into the benefits of collaborative working and as experienced teachers we are able to support small group learning whilst tailoring the outcomes for each individual child. We offer each child bespoke targets and feedback ensuring every child reaches their full potential.
Each half term you will receive written feedback on your child’s progress. We are always happy to answer any questions you may have.

The Xmas Wreath Making Workshop at the Homegrown Learning Hub was a fun, lively, well organised and friendly evening, and would recommend their events to anyone and will certainly be doing it again.

The team at the Hub are outstanding, they go above and beyond to make you feel confident and comfortable with your baby. Their creative is so wonderful and they go that extra mile to create the magic for the weekly themes.

Another fabulous couple of days for the girls at Holiday Camp! They come home brimming with excitement and happiness to tell us all about the experiments they’ve enjoyed, the people they’ve met and the high quality crafts they’ve made. Thank you so much for being such a great option when it comes to holiday childcare :-)

First time visiting the HGLH and it was lovely. Both the ladies who run the place were super friendly and happy to help with any questions I had. It was my baby first time doing sensory at 8 weeks old, although they was asleep I was made to feel welcome to take a seat and wait until baby woke so I could get a feel for the sessions and then join in when I could. I will look forward to returning in the future and getting involved in other sessions.

My son and I have been going to the Hub for baby massage and sensory classes. Gemma, Holly and Eve and are super welcoming and make classes feel fun and inclusive with some unique activities. Would definitely recommend to anyone with a new baby!

We’ve been attending baby massage and baby sensory at Homegrown Learning Hub and couldn’t recommend it more! Holly, Gemma, and Eve are so kind and welcoming — they made me and my baby feel so comfortable. Such a fab experience, we can’t wait for next term!

This is the first time trying the learning hub for my 4 year old son. I have been trying various holiday clubs for him in preparation for when he goes to school and I require holiday care. It is hard to come by holiday clubs for 4 year olds that are not all sports and bouncy castles so this was truly a magical find. He absolutely loved his time there and the next day asked me if he could go back (which is a first). I’m hoping in the future they may cater for 8am - 6pm for holiday clubs. : o)
